Larry Carver

President

Larry Carver began his career in Project Management in the early 1970’s. After working with the Jack DeBoer development company in Kansas, Larry joined the Cushman Corporation where he managed interior fit-out of two office towers and retail space in Colony Square in Atlanta, Georgia.

In 1975, Larry joined Peachtree Purchasing Company in Atlanta as a Project Manager for hotel projects. He was promoted to President of that organization in 1977, in partnership with John C. Portman, Architect and Developer.

Carver & Associates was formed in 1983 as an independent purchasing company for hotels and other hospitality projects. The company has grown and evolved over the years and now boasts 3 offices in the United States as well as 4 international offices in Korea, India, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Throughout his career, Larry has enjoyed working with many elite hotel brands including InterContinental Hotels Group, Marriott International, Hilton Worldwide, Choice, Wyndham, Starwood and Radisson. Carver & Associates is dedicated to the provision of ethical, competent and compassionate services to the hotel owners, developers, brands and vendors with which it works.

A career leader in Hospitality… Including senior roles in Global Procurement, Global Project Management, Product Development, Innovative Distributor Solutions and Hotel Operations. Prior to joining Carver & Associates, he served as Director of Supply Chain Mgmt. and Purchasing as well as Director of Capital Projects for InterContinental Hotels Group, Wyndham, Divi Resorts & Hyatt Hotels. He also served in a wide range of Food &Beverage Mgmt. roles with Hyatt Hotels, The Whitehall Chicago & Morton’s Steak Houses.

Lee Phipps

Chief Operating Officer

Lee Phipps is the Chief Operating Officer for Carver & Associates, where she leads strategic growth initiatives, builds key partnerships, and drives revenue expansion. She identifies new business opportunities, develops market strategies, leads negotiations, and collaborates with sales and marketing teams to increase brand visibility and achieve organizational goals.

Lee holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Hampton University and a Certificate in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion from Cornell University. Her career spans executive leadership roles across the private and government sectors, with expertise in hospitality operations, sales leadership, contract negotiations, property repositioning, and financial management.

She previously served as General Manager and Director of Sales for Marriott Hotels, earning the prestigious Triumph of Spirit Award, and as Director of Hotel & Lodging for the Potomac Job Corps Center under the U.S. Department of Labor, overseeing multi-department operations and regulatory compliance.

As Administrator for Henry Anesthesia Associates at Piedmont Henry Hospital, Lee oversaw operations, budgets, patient service initiatives, and served as Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer while collaborating with governing boards and government agencies to improve efficiency and performance.

Recognized for her strategic insight and operational excellence, Lee continues to leverage her industry expertise at Carver & Associates to strengthen client relationships, drive innovation, and deliver sustainable growth through sound financial analysis and market positioning.

Doug Roam

Managing Partner

Doug Roam is the Managing Partner in the Griffin, Georgia office which is located 37 miles south of downtown Atlanta. After many years in the Commercial Development industry, Doug joined forces with Larry Carver in 2000 and developed a new FF&E “turnkey” offering for the clients of Carver & Associates. Today, this concept of combining interior design and FF&E supply to hotel owners and operators has increased in popularity and is the focus of operations for the Carver-Griffin office.

Bill McGinnis

Vice President

Bill joined Carver & Associates in the summer of 2004. His prior experience includes Food and Beverage Director for Fitzgerald’s Hotel and Casino where he worked for 13 years elevating the property with complete remodels of both rooms and public areas. Bill is our primary tribal project expert. He is leading Carver & Associate’s most recent tribal project, Chumash Casino Resort. Prior tribal projects he completed include Morongo Casino & Resort and San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino.

Currently, Bill is the head liaison for the InterContinental Hotels Group projects handled by the Las Vegas office, including over 11,000 guest rooms for corporately owned properties within the IHG portfolio.

Aliasgar Kanchwala

Area Director – MEIA

Aliasgar has extensive management experience, with a focus on the hospitality sector. He has a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the Indian Institute of Technology. Aliasgar manages the Middle East, India and Africa; he oversees all bidding, contract award, record keeping, and logistics for the project.

Chang Kuk Ko

Managing Partner

Chang Ko has been working with Carver & Associates since early 1993. He has been in the import/export business in Korea for over twenty years and has been active in the contract industry since 1992. Mr. Ko is a designer and artist by profession and manages all work in Korea.

Megan LaPlaca

Vice President of Procurement

Megan LaPlaca brings more than 22 years of experience in hospitality project management and procurement services. As Director of Project Management at Carver & Associates, she oversees a team of 15 procurement project managers and plays a key leadership role across all phases of a project, from kickoff through delivery and installation.

Megan’s expertise includes budget development, project scheduling and critical path management, specification development, bid analysis, purchase order tracking, expediting oversight, and installation coordination. She also leads the continued development and implementation of operational processes and best practices to support project efficiency, accountability, and client satisfaction. Using Carver’s web-based FF&E purchasing platform, Sigma Sourcing, she helps drive visibility and coordination across complex hospitality projects.

Known for her collaborative and solutions-oriented approach, Megan works closely with owners, designers, vendors, and contractors to proactively manage risk, resolve challenges, and maintain strong working relationships throughout the project lifecycle. She is also responsible for monitoring project performance, supporting team development, and reporting progress to executive leadership and project stakeholders.

Before joining Carver & Associates, Megan worked with Fluor Corporation, where she gained international procurement and project management experience supporting operations in France, South Carolina, and Dubai, UAE. During her time in the Middle East, she led a multinational team of field buyers, managed procurement activities in accordance with project procurement practices, and trained newly hired buyers on procedures and operations.

Megan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a minor in Social Sciences from Clemson University.

Danielle McCullar

Vice President of Interior Design Services

Danielle McCullar is a senior hospitality interior design professional with over 14 years of experience guiding design initiatives for hospitality projects across a wide range of brands, asset types, and renovation scopes. As VP of Interior Design Services at Carver & Associates, she sets the strategic design direction for projects while overseeing execution to ensure the delivery of brand - compliant, guest - focused environments that balance creativity, constructability, and financial performance. Danielle brings a comprehensive understanding of hospitality operations, brand standards, and development constraints, allowing her to lead projects seamlessly from early concepts through construction and opening. Known for her collaborative and solutions - driven leadership style, she emphasizes accountability, design excellence, and efficiency across all phases of project delivery.

She leads and mentors a team of interior designers, overseeing workload management and reviewing key design components, including space planning, finish palettes, FF&E selections, and custom elements. She establishes design standards and best practices while ensuring consistency and quality across multiple concurrent projects. Working closely with hotel owners, developers, brand representatives, architects, engineers, suppliers, and general contractors, Danielle serves as a central point of coordination facilitating clear communication, resolving design challenges, and driving timely decision making throughout the project lifecycle.

Her experience includes work with leading hospitality brands and ownership groups including InterContinental Hotels Group, Marriott International, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Choice Hotels, Best Western, Radisson Hotels, Aimbridge Hospitality, Peachtree Hotel Group, McKibbon Hospitality, Vision Hospitality Group, Bluepoint Hospitality, BPR Properties, and Narsi Properties.
